Job summary

Sunday River is hiring Lift Operators for the 2026/27 season. This role offers flexible part-time and full-time schedules with opportunities for advancement. You’ll work indoors and outdoors, assist guests at ski lifts, and participate in safety procedures and guest engagement.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Participate in 3 day Lift Operation training and attend team meetings.
• Complete pre-operational lift checks with Lift Maintenance guidance.
• Shovel snow and groom ski surfaces around lifts.
• Set up and remove signs and equipment to assist guests with loading.
• Meet and greet guests and operate lifts safely according to protocols.
• Safely load/unload guests and monitor safety on lifts.
• Assist with crowd control and lift ticket checks.
• Serve as Sunday River Ambassador and communicate with guests.

Overview

Sunday River is looking for Lift Operators for our 2026/27 season! Our fun and diverse team of operators works both indoors and outdoors while assisting our guests at the ski lifts.

Ski lifts are surprisingly easy to operate and there is no mechanical experience necessary. The ability to ski or snowboard is not required for this position but there are plenty of opportunities to enjoy the slopes while working. Our operators have a great mix of social interaction and also enjoy plenty of mountain solitude!

Responsibilities

• Participate in 3 day Lift Operation training, follow up training, and team meetings
• Complete pre-operational lift checks with the assistance and guidance of the Lift Maintenance department
• Shovel snow, pick ice, and groom ski surfaces around lifts
• Set up and remove signs, corrals, and other equipment to assist the guests with staging, loading and unloading
• Meet and greet guests
• Operate lifts in accordance with safety protocols and procedures
• Safely load and unload guests
• Observe all guests getting on and off lifts and respond to any unsafe situations
• Assist with crowd control and lift ticket checking
• Assume the role of Sunday River Ambassador who is ready and eager to converse with guests
• Communicate effectively with other departments on safety issues, mechanical problems and general inquires

Qualifications

• No prior experience required but ski resort knowledge is helpful
• Must be able to work outdoors in all types of weather
• Must be 18 years of age or older

Compensation & Benefits

• Wages range from $15.50 to $20, depending on experience, with opportunities for professional growth and advancement.
