Job summary

Discovery Land Company’s Homewood Mountain & Lake Club in Lake Tahoe is seeking a Lift Operator to join the Lift & Gondola Operations team. You will be responsible for the safe operation, loading, riding and unloading of lifts while delivering a high level of safety and guest service.

The role requires clear communication, teamwork, and the ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

  • Excellent communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to follow lift loading and unloading procedures and safety protocols.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • 18 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure loading/unloading areas are free of debris, smooth, and ready for guests and staff.
  • Set up proper mazes and signage depending on demand for the day.
  • Periodically check signage to ensure it is still up to par.
  • Remain engaged, attentive, and focused while safely loading and unloading guests.
  • Provide additional assistance to children, guests with accessibility needs, or anyone requiring extra support.
  • Snow removal as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Lift Operator

This role will be located at one of Discovery Land Company’s locations: Homewood Mountain & Lake Club, set on the West Shore of Lake Tahoe in Homewood, California. Homewood Mountain Resort is seeking a Lift Operator to join the Lift & Gondola Operations Department.

Job Summary

Lift Operators are responsible for the safe operation, loading, riding and unloading of their respective lifts. This position plays an essential role in delivering a safe, efficient, and positive experience for all guests while maintaining the highest standards of safety and service.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Ensure chairlift loading and unloading areas are free of debris, smooth, and ready for guest/employee loading and unloading.
  • Set up proper mazes and signage depending on the demand for the day.
  • Periodically check signage to ensure it is still up to par.
  • Remain engaged, attentive, and focused while safely loading and unloading guests from chairlift carriers.
  • Provide additional assistance to children, guests with accessibility needs, or anyone requiring extra support.
  • Snow removal as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Must be able to work flexible work hours/schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Long hours may be required due to business demands.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including, but not limited to, working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, standing, walking, and moving for periods of greater than eight (8) hours, and lifting and carrying items sometimes greater than fifty (50) pounds.

Compensation

The Company’s good faith estimate of the hourly rate it expects to pay for this role is $21-$25 and is based on applicable and specialized experience and location.
