Job summary

Discovery Land Company's Homewood Mountain & Lake Club in California is seeking a Lift Operator to join the Lift & Gondola Operations Department. You will be responsible for safe operation, loading, riding and unloading of lifts, delivering a safe and positive guest experience.

The role requires strong communication, ability to follow safety protocols, and teamwork. The position is full-time or seasonal, with hours including evenings, weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• English literacy required; other languages preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure chairlift loading/unloading areas are debris-free and ready.
• Set up mazes and signage based on daily demand.
• Perform periodic signage checks.
• Assist children and guests with accessibility needs.
• Snow removal as required.
• Other duties as assigned.

Position

Homewood Mountain Resort is seeking a Lift Operator to join the Lift & Gondola Operations Department.

Location

This role will be located at one of Discovery Land Company's locations: Homewood Mountain & Lake Club, set on the West Shore of Lake Tahoe in Homewood, California.

Job Summary

Lift Operators are responsible for the safe operation, loading, riding and unloading of their respective lifts. This position plays an essential role in delivering a safe, efficient, and positive experience for all guests while maintaining the highest standards of safety and service.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Ensure chairlift loading and unloading areas are free of debris, smooth, and ready for guest/employee loading and unloading.
• Set up proper mazes and signage depending on the demand for the day.
• Periodically check signage to ensure it is still up to par.
• Remain engaged, attentive, and focused while safely loading and unloading guests from chairlift carriers.
• Provide additional assistance to children, guests with accessibility needs, or anyone requiring extra support.
• Snow removal as required.
• Other duties as assigned.

• 18 years of age or older.

• Ability to stay calm and focused during the busiest of times.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; additional languages preferred.
• Must be able to work flexible work hours/schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Long hours may be required due to business demands.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including, but not limited to, working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, standing, walking, and moving for periods of greater than eight (8) hours, and lifting and carrying items sometimes greater than fifty (50) pounds.

The Company's good faith estimate of the hourly rate it expects to pay for this role is $21-$25 and is based on applicable and specialized experience and location.
