Job summary

Boyne Resorts is seeking a Lift Mechanic to maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and inspect chairlifts, carpets, and related equipment at The Highlands. The role requires performing preventative, scheduled, and emergency maintenance year-round in outdoor conditions.

Responsibilities include daily safety checks, diagnostics, and adhering to ANSI/state/federal safety rules, with ability to lift 75 lbs and work at heights up to 50 feet.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of lift maintenance experience.
• Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read and understand technical diagrams and manufacturer manuals.
• Must follow ANSI, State, and Federal safety regulations.
• Must work a flexible winter schedule, including days, nights, weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
• Must be comfortable working outdoors year-round and in inclement weather.
• Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs.
• Must be comfortable working at heights up to 50 feet.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair all chairlifts, surface lifts, carpets, and related equipment.
• Complete daily safety checks and prepare lifts for operation.
• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and diagnostic repairs.
• Inspect lift components including cables, grips, sheaves, bull wheels, safety switches, control circuits, brakes, motors, electrical systems, chairs, towers, and related equipment.
• Perform minor repairs and maintenance on electrical motors, auxiliary engines, brakes, and brake motors.
• Use technical diagrams, manufacturer manuals, and maintenance recommendations to properly service equipment.
• Follow all applicable ANSI, State, and Federal safety requirements and regulations.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
• Maintain all required certifications, licenses, and training.
• Assist with lift construction, refinishing, lift operations, and other resort projects as needed.
• Assist with lift operations training when requested.
• Work cooperatively with Lift Maintenance and other resort departments.
• Demonstrate strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in high-stress situations.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Lift Maintenance Manager.
