Job summary

Sunrise Park Resort seeks a Lift Maintenance Manager to oversee inspection, preventive maintenance, repair, and documentation of our aerial lift systems at the resort. You will supervise lift maintenance and electronics staff, establish safe maintenance practices, and ensure compliance with ANSI standards, manufacturer requirements, and jurisdictional rules.

  • High school diploma (or equivalent) required; college/trade training preferred.
  • At least five years of progressively responsible lift maintenance experience, including supervisory or lead responsibility.
  • Thorough knowledge of aerial lift mechanical and electrical systems, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting.
  • Working knowledge of ANSI standards, manufacturer requirements, and lift maintenance rules.
  • Ability to lead employees, plans, communicates across departments, and acts during urgent conditions.
  • Detail-oriented with ability to maintain technical records; proficient in Microsoft Office and CMMS/lift-maintenance software.
  • LMT and NDT certifications are preferred; required training/credentials may be needed.
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record when operating company vehicles.

Responsibilities

  • Lead safe, efficient day-to-day maintenance of all aerial lifts and related systems.
  • Ensure compliance with ANSI standards, manufacturer specs, Sunrise policies, and authorities having jurisdiction.
  • Recruit, train, schedule, supervise, evaluate, and develop lift maintenance and electronics personnel.
  • Develop and oversee year-round preventive maintenance, inspection, testing, repair, and readiness programs.
  • Inspect and verify completed work; maintain records for safety and readiness.
  • Plan department activities, staffing, tools, parts, and resources; ensure on-time completion.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, vehicles, shops, inventories in safe condition.
  • Notify Mountain Operations Director of abnormal conditions; coordinate return-to-service decisions.
  • Maintain maintenance records, procedures, logs, incidents, tests, and corrective actions.
  • Support emergency response, inspections, regulatory reviews, and corrective actions.
  • Administer timekeeping, safety reporting, and performance documentation with HR.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Position Summary

The Lift Maintenance Manager leads the inspection, preventive maintenance, repair, and documentation of Sunrise Park Resort's aerial lift systems. This position supervises lift maintenance and electronics personnel; establishes safe, reliable maintenance practices; and ensures work complies with applicable ANSI standards, manufacturer requirements, resort policies, and requirements of authorities having jurisdiction. The Manager promptly reports abnormal conditions, incidents, and significant system malfunctions to the Mountain Operations Director and coordinates closely with the Lift Operations Manager.

Essential Duties
  • Manage and remain accountable for the safe, efficient day-to-day maintenance of all aerial lifts and related systems.
  • Ensure lift maintenance practices comply with applicable ANSI standards, manufacturer specifications, Sunrise policies and procedures, and requirements of authorities having jurisdiction.
  • Recruit, train, schedule, supervise, evaluate, and develop lift maintenance and electronics personnel; reinforce safe work practices, technical proficiency, accountability, and teamwork.
  • Develop, schedule, and oversee year-round preventive maintenance, inspection, testing, repair, and readiness programs for summer and winter operations.
  • Inspect and verify completed work to support lift safety, reliability, and operational readiness; ensure each employee accurately documents work performed each day.
  • Plan and prioritize department activities, staffing, tools, parts, and resources so work is completed thoroughly, safely, and on schedule.
  • Maintain departmental tools, test equipment, vehicles, shops, parts inventories, and other assigned assets in safe and serviceable condition.
  • Immediately notify and consult the Mountain Operations Director regarding abnormal or unusual conditions, incidents, lift failures, and significant system malfunctions; coordinate operational impacts and return-to-service decisions with the Lift Operations Manager and other authorized leaders.
  • Maintain complete, accurate, and current records required by Sunrise and authorities having jurisdiction, including maintenance and inspection records, operating and maintenance procedures, daily logs, lift failures, incidents, tests, and corrective actions.
  • Support emergency response, evacuation planning and drills, incident review, regulatory inspections, and corrective-action follow-up within the position's training and authority.
  • Administer departmental time and attendance, performance management, safety reporting, and disciplinary documentation in coordination with Human Resources.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; relevant college, trade school, apprenticeship, or manufacturer training preferred.
  • At least five years of progressively responsible lift maintenance experience, including supervisory or lead responsibility; comparable combinations of education and directly related experience may be considered.
  • Thorough knowledge of aerial lift mechanical and electrical systems, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, inspection practices, and safe work procedures.
  • Working knowledge of applicable ANSI standards, manufacturer requirements, and rules governing lift maintenance and ski-area operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead employees, plan work, maintain accountability, communicate across departments, and respond effectively during urgent or abnormal operating conditions.
  • Ability to maintain detailed technical records and use Microsoft Office and lift-maintenance or computerized maintenance-management software.
  • Lift Maintenance Technician (LMT) and nondestructive testing (NDT) certifications are preferred; ability to obtain and maintain role-required training or credentials may be required.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record required when operating company vehicles is an assigned essential function.
