Job summary

The Spires at Berry College in Rome, GA, is seeking a dedicated Activities Coordinator to plan, implement, and evaluate therapeutic recreational programs for Assisted Living and Memory Care residents. You will coordinate evening and weekend activities, consult with other departments, and help arrange transportation and outings to meet residents’ physical, emotional, and social needs.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED, at least three years in senior living or related fields,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least three years of related work experience in the senior living industry or related field required.
• Current CPR certification preferred.
• Certified Activity Professional or equivalent preferred.
• Must be physically able to lift up to 25 pounds unassisted.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, coordinate, and evaluate programs of therapeutic recreational activities for Assisted Living and Memory Care residents.
• Consult with other departments in implementing activities for residents' physical, emotional and social needs.
• Assist in coordinating transportation and accompany residents on outings.
• Develop and post a monthly schedule of activities by the first day of the month.
• Maintain activity records for twelve months and make them available to regulators.
• Assist with the volunteer program to meet residents' needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

What You Will Do

• Plan, implement, coordinate, and evaluate programs of therapeutic recreational activities (including evening and weekend activities) for Assisted Living and Memory Care residents. Ensure programming meets minimum requirements under regulations governing relevant Senior Living communities.
• Consults with other departments in implementing appropriate activities relating to the physical, emotional and social needs of residents.
• Assist in coordinating transportation and accompany residents on outings as scheduled.
• Develop and post a monthly schedule of member activities by the first day of the month. Maintain a record of activities for twelve calendar months at all times. Make records available to regulatory agencies upon request.
• Assist with the volunteer program to meet the program needs of the residents.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Why You Are Qualified

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
• At least three (3) years of related work experience in the senior living industry or related field required.
• Current CPR certification preferred.
• Certified Activity Professional or equivalent preferred.
• On a daily basis, throughout the workday: Must be capable of sitting, standing, walking, climbing stairs, reaching, turning, bending, stooping, crouching and kneeling, reaching over the head, grasping with both hands, and fine manipulation. Must physically be able to lift up to 25 pounds unassisted.
