Job summary

CCMC, a community management company, seeks an Events Coordinator to assist the Lifestyle Director in planning and executing recreational activities and special events for residents. Many events are scheduled on weekends and evenings.

You will help create and promote a comprehensive events calendar, coordinate with residents, vendors and staff, and ensure events run smoothly while delivering excellent customer service and professional conduct.

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of professional experience in event planning, recreation programming, public relations or related fields.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Professional and energetic demeanor.
  • Effective written and oral communication.
  • Ability to establish and maintain relationships with residents, board, volunteers, and vendors.
  • Strong conflict resolution and people skills.
  • Organized with ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Valid driver’s license and vehicle liability insurance.
  • Willingness to work flexible full-time hours including some nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Pre-employment drug screen and background check required.

  • Organize and execute community events, holiday events, concerts, dances and health and education programs.
  • Present a professional demeanor while building relationships with residents, partners and vendors.
  • Oversee volunteer management at events.
  • Manage the use of the facility for Board, Committee, and other meetings.
  • Coordinate scheduling, set-up, and clean-up with Maintenance, Janitorial and staff.
  • Serve as the go-to resource for residents in party and meeting planning by providing room scheduling and event information, as well as catering and entertainment resources.
  • Assist with phones, walk-ins and perform other administrative duties.

In this crucial role, you’ll work collaboratively with the Lifestyle Director in planning and implementing recreational activities and special events for the community. Many events are held on weekends and evenings.

What you’ll accomplish:

What we’re looking for:

  • Possess strong customer service skills
  • Be professional and energetic
  • Communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Able to establish and maintain good working relationships with Board, team, residents, volunteers, and contractors
  • Possess strong conflict resolution and excellent "people" skills
  • Organized, able to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail, a willingness to work independently, and participate as part of a team
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and current vehicle liability insurance.
  • This is not an 8-5, Monday-Friday desk job. Qualified candidates must be able to work full-time hours that are flexible and will include some nights, weekends and holidays
  • All prospective employees must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check

If driving is, or becomes, a requirement of the role, it is required, at all times, that you hold a valid state driver’s license for the class of vehicle you are driving, maintain a clean motor vehicle report, and hold current automobile insurance at statutory limits. You must notify Human Resources immediately regarding any change to your motor vehicle standing. CCMC may periodically review motor vehicle reports to ensure compliance with these requirements.

The physical requirements can vary, but generally, they may include:

  • Mobility: Ability to walk the grounds long distances in various weather conditions.
  • Lifting and Carrying: Occasionally lifting and carrying supplies or equipment up to 25 pounds.
  • Extended Sitting or Standing: Capability to sit or stand for extended periods during meetings or events.
  • Manual Dexterity: Skills in using technology, including computers and mobile devices.
  • Driving: Ability to operate vehicle to perform certain job functions. (Please note: We will request and review an MVR at the time of hire and on a periodic basis thereafter to ensure that employees maintain a satisfactory driving status.)
