Job summary
Splendora Independent School District is seeking an Instructional Paraprofessional at the Coleman Campus to support certified staff and assist students with reading, math and related activities. The role includes supervising non-instructional time and helping implement instructional programs.
Work includes field trips, lunch supervision, and assisting with IEP goals while maintaining confidentiality and aiding with material preparation.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Completion of college level coursework or passing of examination as required by the No Child Left Behind Act.
- Prior experience working with special needs children desirable.
Responsibilities
- Assist students to reinforce reading, language arts, mathematics, computer instruction, and other skills.
- Work with students individually and in small groups to reinforce basic learning and implement programs.
- Assist staff in administration and correction of classroom exercises, tests and assessments.
- Assist with classroom materials preparation and reinforcement strategies for individual needs.
- Assist with record-keeping to document student learning and performance.
- Support classroom behavior management to maintain safe, orderly environment.
