Job summary

YMCA of Greater Oklahoma City is hiring for an Aquatics Lifeguard to keep the pool safe and welcoming. Whether you’re a lifeguard or a swim instructor in training, you’ll help swimmers build confidence while gaining experience in the water.

Starting at $12.00 per hour, the position requires CPR, AED, O2, and First Aid certification and being at least 16 years old. Responsibilities include monitoring the pool, enforcing rules, responding to emergencies, maintaining the pool area, and assisting

Qualifications

• Must be certified in CPR, AED, O2, and First Aid. (Training provided by the Y, if needed)
• Must 16 years of age.
• YMCA Lifeguard or certification by another nationally recognized organization.
• Must relate positively with pool patrons and staff.

Responsibilities

• Monitor pool area to ensure the safety of all swimmers and visitors.
• Enforce pool rules and regulations to prevent accidents and injuries.
• Respond promptly to emergencies, including rescues and first aid/CPR as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pool area and facilities.
• Conduct regular safety checks of equipment and pool conditions.
• Provide excellent customer service by assisting members with inquiries.
