Job summary

YMCA of the East Bay is hiring part-time lifeguards and/or swim instructors at the Pleasant Hill location. No certification required; we provide training. You’ll work 6-25 hours a week in a fast-paced, diverse environment.

Responsibilities include maintaining safe swimming conditions, supervising the pool, responding to emergencies, and supporting events. We value energetic, adaptable team players who can communicate well with members and staff.

Qualifications

• Lifeguard CPR, AED & First Aid certification or equivalent.
• Must be at least 16 years old and able to maintain readiness.
• Adaptable, reliable, energetic, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safe swimming conditions and active surveillance of the pool.
• Respond to emergencies in accordance with YMCA policies.
• Maintain positive relationships with members and staff.
• Attend staff meetings and support special events when needed.
