Job summary

The City of Bozeman Swim Department is hiring full-time and part-time Lifeguard & Swim Instructors who are confident, detail oriented, quick thinkers, and team oriented to ensure patron safety and deliver high-quality aquatics programs.

Responsibilities include lifeguarding at indoor and outdoor facilities, providing instruction to patrons, assisting with facility maintenance, testing water chemistry, handling cashier duties, and supporting management in daily operations.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old and have 6 months aquatics or lifeguarding experience.
• Red Cross Lifeguarding with CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer and First Aid certification required (expired acceptable at hire).
• Water Safety Instructor (WSI) certification within six months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Perform lifeguarding duties, enforce pool rules, prevent accidents and document incidents.
• Provide customer service, process payments and assist patrons with programs.
• Instruct aquatics programs, teach water safety and pool rules, and prepare lesson plans.
