Job summary

City of Santa Fe Springs seeks applicants for the position of Instructor Lifeguard I. This is an hourly, non-benefited role at the City Aquatic Center with a flexible schedule including early evenings, weekends and holidays.

Training and certification will be provided upon successful completion of in-water assessment and oral panel interview; candidates must pass all phases of recruitment and background checks to join the team.

Qualifications

• Experience as a pool lifeguard preferred.
• Red Cross Lifeguard Training Certificate required.
• American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer and AED Certification required.
• American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor safety of patrons and staff at the City Aquatic Center.
• Teach swimming lessons to all age groups and skill levels.
• Administer First Aid and CPR as needed.
• Maintain pool and equipment and enforce pool rules.
• Maintain accurate records and prepare written reports.
