Job summary

The YMCA of La Crosse (Dahl Branch) is seeking part-time lifeguards and swim instructors to help keep our pool safe and welcoming while delivering quality programming for members and participants. You may focus on lifeguarding, teaching swimming, or a mix of both, at our Dahl branch in La Crosse, WI.

Responsibilities include active pool surveillance, enforcing rules, responding to emergencies with first aid, and communicating professionally with staff and members.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 15 years old.
• Lifeguard certification required.
• CPR/AED certification for lifeguards required.
• Ability to work with children and adults of all ages.
• Availability for part-time scheduling.

• Actively scan pool deck and maintain a safe and welcoming pool environment.
• Enforce YMCA pool rules.
• Respond to pool emergencies and perform first aid on duty.
• Teach swimming lessons to YMCA standards.

Job Description

Join our team of lifeguards and swim instructors to maintain the health and safety of all participants, and provide high-quality programming, while building relationships with members and program participants. We are seeking candidates interested in lifeguarding, swim instructing, and/or taking on a combination of both roles. This part-time position is available at our Dahl branch in La Crosse, WI.

Responsibilities:

• Actively scan the pool deck and maintain a safe and welcoming pool environment
• Enforce all YMCA pool rules
• Respond to all pool emergencies and perform first-aid while on duty
• Teach swimming lessons to YMCA standards
• Communicate with supervisors, staff, members, and guests in a concise and positive manner
