*Starting Pay $15.00/hour*
The candidates will demonstrate themselves to match the REACT (Respect Excellence Accountability Care Trust) culture within the City of Farmers Branch. The purpose of this position is to assist with the operation, safety, and maintenance of the outdoor (seasonal) aquatic facilities.
- Supervise and ensure the safety of pool guests through effective scanning.
- Assist with "Learn to Swim" lessons when necessary, maintain the cleanliness of the pool facility, and complete light janitorial work.
- Attend and participate in regular in-service training.
- Work with guests to achieve a positive pool experience.
- Require regular attendance.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Must be at least 15 years of age
Level of knowledge must include some high school experience. Possess knowledge necessary to understand basic operational, technical, or office processes.
Employment is conditional upon successful completion of a criminal background check and drug/alcohol test.
Position requires regular interaction involving exchange and receipt of information. Customer service skills and the ability to interact with guests daily.
Ability to perform duties after receiving detailed instructions with little room for deviation. The immediate supervisor may provide close review.
Use of standard technical skills appropriate to the work environment.
Ability to remain attentive and alert during long periods.
Basic knowledge of grammar, spelling, writing, and math, including the ability to compose complete sentences, understand complex words and phrases, and perform basic math functions such as fractions, percentages, measurements, and ratios.
Special Requirements:Required to work mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Must pass swimming and lifeguarding abilities tests.
This position is classified as a safety-sensitive position and is subject to random drug and alcohol testing during employment.
Licenses and Certificates:Requires valid American Red Cross Lifeguarding certification for the duration of employment.
American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor certification is desired or willing to obtain within three months of hire.
Work Environment:Position involves outdoor exposure to extreme temperature changes and weather conditions. Includes occasional physical and mechanical hazards. Physical demands include lifting objects up to 50 lbs., physical exertion, walking most of the workday, bending, stooping, and climbing.
