West Valley Family YMCA in Reseda, CA is seeking a part-time Lifeguard to maintain safe swimming conditions and provide a welcoming, positive atmosphere for members.

You will continuously scan the pool, enforce safety rules, perform equipment checks, and respond to emergencies per YMCA policies. Strong communication with staff and members is essential.

Provisional employment is possible while certifications are obtained; must be 16+ with 1–2 years lifeguard experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 16.
• Current lifeguard certifications required (YMCA/other recognized bodies).
• Provisional hire possible if certifications are obtained within 30–90 days.
• 1–2 years lifeguard experience preferred.

Responsabilités

• Continuously scan pool and aquatic area.
• Enforce safety rules; respond to emergencies per policy.
• Inspect equipment and ensure availability as needed.
• Maintain positive relationships with members and staff.
• Review emergency procedures and report incidents as required.
• Maintain records per YMCA and state Health Department codes.
• Uphold safety policies and Six Pillars of Character.
