Essential Job Functions

• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• Provide courteous guest service to all guests.
• Initiate and engage in conversations in a professional and friendly manner.
• Work in a fast-paced environment.
• Work independently and with a team.
• Guard the pool from the lifeguard stands to ensure guest safety.
• Maintain an upright and attentive posture while guarding.
• Follow all safety and health standards at all times.

Qualifications

• Must be Lifeguard certified; CPR for the professional rescuer; first aid training; certification required prior to employment.
• Enthusiasm and excellent customer skills.
• Ability to tolerate a close-knit environment with constant coworker involvement.
• Physical ability to lift, bend, push, and pull heavy objects (up to 50 lbs).
• Ability to work in extreme temperatures and adverse conditions.
• Maintain physical stamina and mental alertness to perform under pressure and in emergencies.
• Perform rescue skills according to American Red Cross guidelines, including swimming 500 meters nonstop using sidestroke, crawl, or breaststroke.

Physical, Mental, and Environmental Demands

• Lift 50-75 lbs., move throughout the pool area efficiently regardless of temperature extremes.
• Respond to visual and oral cues.
• Read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Availability to work weekends and holidays.
