YMCA of Southwest Florida is seeking a lifeguard to ensure pool area safety and supervise swimmers. You will monitor activity, enforce rules, and respond quickly to emergencies while maintaining cleanliness and proper records.

The role requires commitment to safety, professionalism, and teamwork within the aquatics program. Responsibilities include sustaining surveillance, assisting with maintenance, and attending trainings to stay current with policies and certifications.

Qualifikationen

• Must be 16 years of age or older.
• Successful completion of State of Florida background check requirements.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Adhere to drug/alcohol/smoke-free workplace policy.
• Ability to maintain certification-level physical and mental readiness.
• Must demonstrate lifeguard skills to YMCA/Red Cross or other standards.
• Professional appearance and attitude.

Aufgaben

• Maintain constant surveillance of the pool area.
• Respond to emergencies immediately per YMCA policies.
• Maintain clean, safe pool deck and equipment.
• Keep accurate records as required by YMCA/Health Dept.
• Assist with pool maintenance and report issues to Aquatics Director.
• Attend staff meetings and training as required.
