Job summary

The Jewish Community Center of Greater Baltimore is seeking a dedicated lifeguard to ensure swimmer safety, enforce pool rules, and maintain a clean, welcoming aquatic environment. The role supports the community's safety and comfort while upholding our values and standards.

This position requires current ARC Lifeguarding, CPR for the Professional Rescuer with AED, First Aid, and additional local certifications.

Qualifications

• Current American Red Cross Lifeguarding certification.
• CPR for the Professional Rescuer (including AED) certification.
• Baltimore County and Baltimore City Pool Operator's certification required (assistance to obtain available).
• 2 years lifeguarding experience preferred; references may be requested.

Responsibilities

• Guard during female-only swim times.
• Ensure safety of all swimmers and enforce pool rules.
• Perform chemical readings and maintain pool conditions per Maryland bathing code.
• Keep pool and deck clean and present a positive image of the JCC.
• Participate in in-service training as scheduled.
• Maintain fitness and readiness for emergencies.
• Assist Aquatics staff in other areas as needed.
