Job summary

City of Lenexa is seeking a part-time Lifeguard to oversee daily pool operations and ensure patron safety. The role emphasizes high training and customer service with a flexible morning to afternoon schedule.

Responsibilities include enforcing pool rules, responding to emergencies, and maintaining cleanliness and reports. Lifeguards must hold or obtain ARC Lifeguard with Water module, CPR/AED, and First Aid before start date.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• American Red Cross Lifeguard with Water module or willing to obtain before the start date (First Aid/ CPR AED).
• Preferred certifications include Lifeguard Instructor or Water Safety Instructor.

• Maintain lifeguard training through required in-service trainings.
• Provide excellent customer service while enforcing safety policies.
• Assist with daily facility setup, cleaning and pool maintenance.
• Submit incident and daily operation reports and logs.
• Perform routine safety inspections of pool deck and restrooms.
• Report or fix equipment as needed and follow all regulations.

Job description

The City of Lenexa is looking for a responsible and safety focused Part Time Lifeguard to oversee the daily operation of our swimming pools

Position Summary

This role ensures the safety of all patrons enforces pool regulations and maintains high training and maintenance standards If youre a strong swimmer with a passion for water safety and customer service we encourage you to apply

Schedule

• This is a part time benefitted position expected to work 25 30 hours a week The varying shift schedule will be between 445am 400pm Monday Friday

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and ensure the safety of all pool patrons
• Respond to emergencies with lifesaving techniques including CPR first aid and water rescues
• Maintain lifeguard training standards by attending required in service trainings
• Provide excellent customer service while enforcing safety policies and procedures
• Assist with daily facility setup cleaning and pool maintenance
• Complete required reports and records including incident reports first aid logs and daily operation logs
• Perform routine safety inspections of the pool deck restrooms and surrounding areas
• Perform minor maintenance on equipment or report necessary repairs
• Follow all safety sanitary and organizational regulations

Qualifications

Minimum

• Must be at least 16 years old
• American Red Cross Lifeguard with Water module or willing to obtain before the start dateThis certification includes First AidCPRAED certifications

Preferred

• Previous lifeguard experience and certifications such as American Red Lifeguard Instructor or Water Safety Instructor

Work Environment

Lifeguards will be exposed to heat humidity and noise typical of an aquatic facility The role requires frequent standing walking reaching and occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs Candidates should be comfortable with physical activity and working in conditions typical of an indoor pool facility

• The rate of pay is 1550 1797 per hour dependent on qualifications and directly related experience
