Job summary

HealthFitness is seeking a part-time Lifeguard for an aquatic facility in Delhi Township, Ohio. You will help create a welcoming, attentive, and safe environment for all members and guests—ensuring every visit is both secure and enjoyable.

Your duties include monitoring patrons, enforcing rules, responding to emergencies, conducting routine chemical tests, and assisting with towel folding, cleaning, and equipment checks while delivering friendly customer service.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• American Red Cross Lifeguarding with CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and First Aid certification.
• Ability to interact with people of all ages in a positive and service-oriented manner.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and ensure safety and well-being of patrons using the aquatic facilities.
• Enforce and explain rules as necessary and respond to emergencies.
• Perform chemical testing and document results for three bodies of water and a hot tub four times daily.
• Attend required staff meetings and assist with facility upkeep (towels, cleaning, water machines).

As a key guardian of the pool deck, you’ll help create a welcoming, attentive, and secure environment for all members and guests—ensuring every visit is both safe and enjoyable.Responsible for monitoring and ensuring a safe and friendly environment for all of the aquatic facility members and guests.Key AccountabilitiesMonitor and ensure safety and well-being of patrons using the aquatic facilities.Enforce and explain rules as necessary.Respond appropriately to any emergency.Perform chemical testing and documents results for three bodies of water and a hot tub four times a day.Attend all required staff meetings and training.Ensure that needs of the aquatic center are being met by folding towels; cleaning; filling water machines; and inspecting the Aquatics Facility to ensure safe environment for members.Maintain a professional attitude.Other duties as needed/assigned.Minimum RequirementsMust be at least 16 years old.American Red Cross Lifeguarding with CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and First Aid certification.Meet HealthFitness Fitness and Skill standards.Be dependable, alert and able to interact with people of all ages in a positive manner with strong customer service skills.Computer proficiency in MS Office including Word, Excel and Outlook; and working knowledge of the member management system, databases, and tools.All lifeguards are required to perform a basic lifeguard skill test consisting of:500 yard swim.Active, Passive, Submerged rescues.Spinal injury management in shallow and deep water.Other various techniques that were learned during the Lifeguard Training Program.The compensation range for this role is $14/hr - $15/hr. The final wage offer will be determined based on factors such as location, qualifications, experience, skill set, and other relevant factors.
