Being an outdoor Lifeguard is one of the most fun jobs you can have in the summer. If you like being outside, if you like working on a team, if you enjoy being a role model and giving back to the community, working at one of The SAY's Community Pools may be for you!
The SAY operates two seasonal Outdoor Pool Facilities, The Berkeley Heights Community Pool at the YMCA, located at 59 Locust Ave, Berkeley Heights, NJ and The Springfield Community Pool, located at 44 Morrison Road, Springfield, NJ 07081. There are open Lifeguard positions for both locations. Candidates who can work at both facilities are desirable.
The Lifeguard maintains safe swimming conditions in the pool, deck, and surrounding areas. They create a safe and positive atmosphere that promotes member safety and engagement in accordance with Y policies and procedures.
This position is seasonal with an opportunity to work up to 40 hours each week. Wages are competitive, starting at $17.00/hour, but based on experience.
The active Outdoor Pool season runs from Late May - Early September with some pre-season work/training. Mandatory Pre-Season Training dates are 5/11, 5/12, 5/18, and 5/19.
