West Tennessee Healthcare in Jackson, Tennessee, is seeking a Lifeguard to maintain a safe, clean aquatics environment and deliver high-quality service in a hospital wellness setting.

You will supervise pool activity, help teach swim lessons, monitor water quality and pool equipment, and support safety protocols. Certifications in lifesaving and water safety, plus AED/CPR during orientation, are required.

This is a full-time, on-site role with opportunities to collaborate across wellness programs.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma preferred but not required.
  • Certification in life saving and/or water safety from an approved agency.
  • AED/ CPR certification required during orientation period.
  • 3 months' experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Greets each user and guest by name when they enter and leave the pool area.
  • Monitor user activity to ensure a safe aquatics environment at all times.
  • Assist with health code compliance, water chemistry, temperature, and pool cleanliness.
  • Maintain pool equipment, filter room, heaters, and surfaces per policy.
  • Administer aquatics services including swim lessons and supervising group activities.
  • Support department activities to align with the wellness center's service philosophy.
  • Attend scheduled meetings and perform related facility duties as needed.

The lifeguard is responsible for providing a clean, well-maintained, and safe aquatics environment in compliance with both facility and local public health department standards.Employee is subject to call back and overtime as required by the hospital.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Greets each user and guest by name when they enter and leave the pool area.Monitor user activity within the aquatics environment to ensure a safe aquatics environment at all times.Assists pool coordinator with monitoring the pool environment to ensure that it meets all required local health codes and user needs, a responsibility that may include monitoring and balancing water chemistry, monitoring and maintaining pool temperature, and monitoring and maintaining the cleanliness of the pool.
