Job description

Position: Part-Time Lifeguard (Indoor) - City of Overland Park

The City of Overland Park is seeking a part-time Lifeguard (Indoor) to join the Parks and Recreation Services Department.

Responsibilities

• Observe and protect patrons at the city's public indoor swimming pools.
• Enforce safety rules and regulations.
• Guard and rescue swimmers in danger of drowning or other aquatic emergencies.
• Attend mandatory training sessions.

Requirements

• Certification through Starguard Lifeguard Course via the City of Overland Park.
• Lifeguard I: Minimum 8th-grade education, at least 15 years old.
• Lifeguard II: Minimum 9th-grade education, at least 16 years old, with one year of lifeguarding experience in Overland Park.
• Lifeguard III: Minimum 10th-grade education, at least 17 years old, with two or more years of lifeguarding experience in Overland Park.

Additional requirements include passing a background check, drug screening, physical exam, and essential functions test.

Normal work hours are variable and part-time. Salary is $15.25 per hour. The application deadline is open until filled.
