Job summary

The City of Irving is hiring for lifeguard positions within the Parks and Recreation Department. Duties include guarding pools, conducting instructional programs, and providing first responder support at events. You will also assist patrons, perform pool maintenance, and help with facility cleaning.

Applicants must be 16 or older, able to lift up to 50 pounds, and hold current Lifeguarding, First Aid and CPR certifications prior to hire. Availability should include evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Hours will vary and may include evenings and weekends.
• Must be at least 16 to be hired, and be able to read and write at a level necessary for successful job performance.

Responsibilities

• Perform lifeguarding duties and be ready to act as a first responder.
• Conduct instructional programs at aquatic facilities.
• Provide first responder support at special events as needed.
• Handle pool maintenance tasks and facility cleaning.
• Answer the telephone, greet visitors, and provide information and assistance to patrons.
