The Frank J. Thornton YMCA Aquatic Center is seeking enthusiastic part-time community members to ensure the safety of pool patrons and assist in life-saving duties. Certified lifeguards or interested swimmers willing to become certified are encouraged to apply. Certification will be provided if needed. This part-time position starts at $14.00 per hour.
Lifeguards are responsible for maintaining the safety of members and program participants at the aquatic center.
Applicants must be at least 15 years old and possess current CPR, AED, First Aid, and either American Red Cross or Ellis Lifeguard certification. Oxygen Administration (O2) certification is preferred but not required. The YMCA will train candidates who meet basic swim requirements and are not yet certified.
