Job summary

Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation is seeking Lifeguards to ensure a safe swimming environment across multiple aquatics facilities. You will provide basic first aid, assist customers, and supervise all swimming activities while maintaining peak safety standards.

Successful candidates will be 16+ with Lifeguard/CPR/First Aid certifications and the ability to work evenings, weekends, and rotating holidays. Temporary and Limited Part Time schedules (19 hours per week) are available.

Qualifications

• Lifeguard certification, CPR certification, First Aid certification are required.
• Must be at least 16 years old; possess at least 8th grade education and maintain all required certifications.

Responsibilities

• Patrol and monitor swim areas; identify hazards or safety infractions.
• Provide first aid and coordinate with EMS for serious injuries as needed.
• Prevent drowning; rescue distressed swimmers using proper techniques.
