Job summary

The City and County of Denver is seeking year-round Lifeguards to work across a variety of recreation centers. DPR offers flexible scheduling around class schedules, extracurricular activities, and other life demands, helping keep the community safe and active at the pool.

This on-call role pays $19.29/hour and includes eligibility for a 457b retirement plan; training is provided for free if you do not already hold a Lifeguard Certification.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 15 years old at time of application.
• Current Lifeguard Training Certification from ARC, NASCO, Ellis & Associates, or Star Guard within first month of employment must be kept current.
• Lifeguard certification training provided free if not possessed prior to employment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise swimming areas and enforce rules to ensure public safety.
• Provide friendly, knowledgeable customer service to pool visitors.
• Maintain cleanliness and upkeep of pool spaces and equipment.
• Teach swimming lessons when assigned.
• Assist with front desk or other facility operations as needed.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
