Job summary

South Suburban Park and Recreation District is hiring lifeguards for all indoor pools on a part-time basis. Shifts cover mornings, afternoons and weekends, with a $16.40–$20.90 per hour rate and ongoing training.

Free Lifeguard Training Course for qualified candidates, and course fees reimbursed after 75 hours worked. You will supervise the aquatics area, assist swimmers, prevent accidents, and respond to emergencies while delivering excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• Must be at least fifteen (15) years of age at the time of application.
• Current American Red Cross Lifeguarding certification at time of hire.
• Available to work 10-15 hours/week fall, winter, spring; 15-20 hours/week in summer.
• Must pass District Water tests.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the aquatics area and supervise pool activities.
• Provide excellent customer service to swimmers and the public.
• Enforce pool rules and respond to emergencies with calm and efficiency.
