Job summary

City and County of Denver is seeking year-round Lifeguards to support indoor pools and recreation centers. This on-call, part-time position offers flexible scheduling around class and life demands while contributing to community safety and activity.

The role requires no formal education, a minimum age of 15, and a current Lifeguard Training Certification. Training is provided for free if needed, with a starting pay of $19.29 per hour and eligibility for the 457b plan.

Qualifications

• Education requirement: None
• Experience requirement: Must be at least 15 years old at time of application
• Certifications: Lifeguard Training Certification from American Red Cross, NASCO, Ellis & Associates, or Star Guard within the first month of employment; free training offered if needed

Responsibilities

• Perform public safety duties at indoor and outdoor pools, supervise swimming areas, enforce rules
• Provide friendly customer service to pool visitors
• Perform upkeep and cleaning of pool spaces and equipment
• Teach swimming lessons
• Provide front desk or facility operations support as needed
• Perform other related duties as assigned
