Job summary

City and County of Denver’s Parks and Recreation Department is seeking year‑round Lifeguards to supervise indoor and outdoor pools across multiple recreation centers. You will enforce safety rules, respond to emergencies, and deliver excellent customer service to pool visitors.

Ideal candidates are strong swimmers with a public service mindset. Training and certification through the American Red Cross Lifeguard program is provided for free upon joining, with scheduling options to fit classes and

Qualifications

• Must be at least 15 years old at time of application.
• Current Lifeguard Training Certification from American Red Cross, NASCO, Ellis & Associates, or Star Guard within the first month of employment.
• Certifications must be kept current as a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise swimming areas in indoor/outdoor pools and enforce rules.
• Respond to emergencies and provide public safety oversight.
• Provide friendly customer service to pool visitors.
• Perform regular upkeep and cleaning of pool spaces and equipment.
• Teach swimming lessons.
• Provide front desk or facility operations support as needed.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
