Job summary

GLENVIEW PARK DISTRICT is hiring lifeguard staff to operate at Splash Landings Indoor Aquatic Center in Park Center, Glenview. You will monitor safety, enforce pool rules, and respond to emergencies to protect swimmers.

This part-time role requires StarGuard Elite certification, a 200-yard swim test, and ongoing 4-hour monthly lifeguard trainings. Competitive hourly rates apply, with weekday and weekend schedules offered.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 15 years old (work permit required for 15-year-olds).
• StarGuard Elite certification to be earned before first day of work.
• Pass a swim assessment: 200 yards, tread water for two minutes, retrieve a 10-lb brick from 6 ft depth.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe aquatic operation with prevention techniques and constant surveillance; enforce pool rules.
• Act as first responder to minor and medical emergencies and provide emergency care until EMS arrival.
• Provide a safe, healthy, enjoyable experience for all swimmers and keep lifeguard skills current with monthly training.
