Lifeguard EVERGREEN (Park and Recreation)

Job Summary

The Lifeguard provides patron safety and first aid in coordination with aquatics safety personnel by enforcing park and pool rules and recognizing and responding to aquatic incidents during normal operations. This is a seasonal position.

Essential Functions

1. Provide daily swimmer surveillance from guard stand or pool deck, enforce pool safety rules, and respond to distressed patrons within 10 seconds.
2. Conduct and participate in emergency and rescue techniques daily.
3. Administer first aid, CPR, and First Aid as required.
4. Report injuries, accidents, and assistance rendered to patrons, documenting each occurrence daily.
5. Assist with daily cleaning and closing duties.
6. Dispatch, guard, and facilitate slides in absence of Waterpark Attendant staff.
7. Assist with pre-season operational and maintenance tasks.
8. Perform other work as needed or assigned.

Knowledge and Skills

1. Knowledge of lifeguarding, first aid, and water park safety rules.
2. Ability to identify distressed persons and handle emergency situations effectively.
3. Physical ability to swim, run, walk, stand, and perform related activities.
4. Effective verbal and written communication skills.
5. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

Licenses and Certifications

Lifeguard Certification is required before fulfilling lifeguard responsibilities.

Salary Range

$19.83 - $20.94 per hour. The offered salary depends on qualifications.
