Job summary

Waterworks Aquatics is seeking a Lifeguard/Deck Guard in San Jose, CA to monitor the pool deck and support swimmers and staff. No competitive swimming experience is required, just alertness, safety procedures, and confident response.

The role involves following the Emergency Action Plan, basic first aid, and maintaining a safe, clean pool environment while providing a supportive, friendly team atmosphere.

Qualifications

• Demonstrate genuine care for safety of families and children.
• Follow safety procedures and emergency actions without hesitation.
• Must be at least 15 years old and physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Actively monitor pool deck to ensure guest and student safety.
• Respond quickly and appropriately to swimmers in distress or emergencies.
• Provide basic first aid and assist with incident response per company protocols.
• Follow and execute Waterworks Aquatics' Emergency Action Plan.
• Perform opening and closing procedures for the pool deck.
• Maintain pool deck cleanliness and safety, including light maintenance and restroom checks.

Pay:$21.50 - $22.50/hr | Location: San Jose, CA 95128

Deck Guards play a critical role in maintaining a safe aquatic environment. You'll actively monitor the pool deck, support swimmers and staff, and respond calmly and effectively to safety situations.

About Waterworks Aquatics

Waterworks Aquatics is a premier swim school teaching children (ages 3 months and up) and adults how to swim. Our mission is to educate and motivate individuals to be safer and learn proper swimming technique. Safety is the foundation of everything we do.

How You'll Make an Impact

• Actively monitor assigned swimming areas to ensure guest and student safety.

Pay, Schedule & Growth

• Pay Range: $21.50 - $22.50 per hour.
