Job summary

Waterworks Aquatics in Huntington Beach, CA is seeking a part-time Lifeguard/Deck Guard to actively monitor the pool deck, ensure guest safety, and respond confidently in emergencies. You will follow safety protocols, assist with incidents, and help maintain a clean, safe aquatic environment.

Ideal candidates are at least 15 years old, able to swim and lift up to 50 lbs, and willing to obtain or renew First Aid/CPR/AED, Lifeguard, and Bloodborne Pathogens certifications with our guidance.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 15 years old and able to swim, tread water, and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Certification in First Aid/CPR/AED, Lifeguard, and Bloodborne Pathogens or willingness to obtain with guidance.

Responsibilities

• Actively monitor assigned swimming areas to ensure guest and student safety.
• Respond quickly and appropriately to swimmers in distress or emergencies.
• Provide basic first aid and assist with incident response per company protocols.
• Follow and execute Waterworks Aquatics’ Emergency Action Plan.
• Perform opening and closing procedures for the pool deck.
• Maintain pool deck cleanliness and safety, including light maintenance and restroom checks.
• Communicate guest or facility concerns to management using proper channels.

Deck Guards play a critical role in maintaining a safe aquatic environment. You’ll actively monitor the pool deck, support swimmers and staff, and respond calmly and effectively to safety situations.
