Job summary

YMCA of Metropolitan Los Angeles is seeking a dedicated Lifeguard to maintain safe swimming conditions in the pool and aquatic area. You will monitor the environment, enforce safety rules, and respond to emergencies following YMCA policies and procedures.

The role requires current lifeguard certifications, 1-2 years of experience, and the ability to perform rescues and CPR. Provisional hire may occur if certifications are pursued within 30 days.

Qualifications

• Must hold current YMCA Lifeguard certification and lifeguard-related health certifications.
• 1-2 years lifeguard experience preferred.
• Provisional exception allows hire before certification if enrolled in course within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Maintain constant surveillance of pool and aquatic area.
• Enforce safety rules and respond to emergencies.
• Perform water rescue, CPR, and first aid as required.
• Complete required safety reports and participate in trainings.
