Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Maintain constant surveillance of the pool, deck, and surrounding areas to ensure guest safety.
  • Enforce all hotel and pool safety policies and procedures professionally and consistently.
  • Respond quickly to water rescues and emergency situations, administering lifesaving techniques such as CPR and First Aid as needed.
  • Provide courteous, professional assistance to guests and address questions or concerns.
  • Inspect pool areas and equipment to identify safety hazards or maintenance needs and report all incidents, injuries, or unsafe conditions to management in accordance with established procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly pool environment.
  • Maintain required certifications and participate in training and safety drills.
  • Assist with pool activities or special events as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Current Lifeguard Certification from a recognized authority (e.g., Red Cross or equivalent)
  • CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications required
  • Strong swimming ability and physical capacity to perform essential lifeguard responsibilities
  • Excellent observational and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure in emergency situations
  • Prior lifeguard or pool safety experience preferred, especially in a hospitality or resort setting
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-service focus
