Mukwonago YMCA is seeking a Lifeguard under the direction of the Aquatics Director to maintain safe pool conditions and enforce YMCA safety rules. You will monitor swimmers, respond to emergencies, and support members with a friendly, safety-minded approach.
Qualified candidates hold YMCA or Red Cross Lifeguard certification plus CPR, First Aid, and AED, must be 15 years or older, and be able to lift up to 50 lbs as part of routine duties. Training and emergencies procedures are emphasized.
Under the direction of the Aquatics Director and in accordance with Association policies, the Lifeguard should be able to motivate others in the areas of self-awareness and self-confidence through swimming and aquatics, be able to motivate and effectively communicate with members, parents and students, and exercise mature judgment and sound decision-making.
Individuals considered for this job must take and pass an advanced swimming and rescue skills test. YMCA Lifeguard or Red Cross lifeguard certification is required. Individuals in this job must be at least 15 years of age and have the following abilities: exercise mature judgment and sound decision making; relate to people in a positive, but firm manner; observant; safety conscious; react calmly and quickly in an emergency; effectively communicate information on YMCA programs to members and participants; lift a minimum of 50 lbs and have full range of body movement. Lifeguard, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, First Aid, and AED certifications must be obtained and maintained.
