Description

The Lifeguard III is responsible for maintaining safe swimming conditions in the pool, regardless of water depth, and ensuring the safety of the waterfront, deck, and surrounding areas. The role involves creating a safe and positive atmosphere that promotes member safety and engagement in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures.

Requirements

• YMCA Lifeguard or American Red Cross Lifeguard (deep water) certification
• Current ASHI BLS, Basic First Aid, and Oxygen Administration certifications (or equivalent courses from American Red Cross, American Heart Association, or National Safety Council). BLS certification is valid for one year.
• Ability to maintain certification-level physical and mental readiness
• Demonstrate lifeguard skills in accordance with YMCA standards
• Maintain all required certifications and trainings
• Minimum age of 16; guidelines for ages 16 and 17 must be followed when working in the pool area

Background Checks

An offer of employment is contingent upon satisfactory results of background checks, which may include criminal background, references, E-Verify, drug testing, driver’s license record, and Child Protective Services (CPS) check. Additional checks or testing may be required in the future to meet or maintain position requirements.

Salary

$12.41 - $12.80 per hour
