Job Details

Job Summary

Under the direction of the Director of Aquatics Programs and Facilities, ensures that all water safety standards are maintained.

Essential Functions

• Ensure the safety of all patrons in the pool area and enforce pool rules and regulations.
• Provide emergency care and treatment until emergency medical services arrive.
• Perform basic water chemical tests and maintenance duties to maintain a safe and clean facility.
• Maintain a professional appearance and attitude, providing high-quality customer service.
• Attend and participate in in-service training sessions.
• Additional responsibilities may be assigned at the school's discretion.

Job Requirements and Qualifications

• At least six months of related experience.
• American Red Cross Lifeguard Training, including CPR for the Professional Rescuer with AED and First Aid.
• Ability to follow routine verbal and written instructions.
• Skill in lifeguarding surveillance and rescue techniques.
• Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergencies.
• Knowledge of customer service standards and procedures.
• Ability to prepare routine paperwork.
• Knowledge of CPR and emergency medical procedures.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Additional Information

• A criminal background check is required and must be successfully completed.
• CPR certified.
• Must maintain Lifeguard Certification from a recognized training provider.
• Moderate to heavy physical activity, including handling persons over 200 pounds.
• Exposure to aquatic emergencies and potential hazards.
• Possible exposure to extreme temperatures, dust, fumes, and loud noises.
