Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, ensure the safety of patrons of an aquatic facility by preventing and responding to emergencies.
Knowledge of CPR and emergency medical procedures and customer service standards and procedures. Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations, apply lifeguarding surveillance and rescue techniques, and follow routine verbal and written instructions. Ability to pass a pre‑employment physical skills evaluation as stipulated by the department. CPR certification mandatory; current certification as Lifeguard by a recognized source of training.
