Job summary

Westbrook County Club is seeking energetic, hospitality-minded individuals for the Summer of 2025 to provide a safe and enjoyable aquatic environment for members, their families, and guests. As a Lifeguard, you will monitor the pool area, enforce safety rules, assist with lessons, and support aquatic programs while delivering excellent service in a seasonal, part-time role.

The position requires a valid Lifeguard/First Aid/CPR/AED certification, flexibility in hours, and availability from late

Qualifications

• Possession of a valid Lifeguard/First Aid/CPR/AED Certificate.
• Part-time seasonal position for Summer only.
• Availability beginning the end of May through September.
• Must have flexible hours.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe aquatic environment for all members, their families, and guests.
• Bridge connections with members during pool deck activities and club events.
• Monitor pool conditions to meet health codes and member needs.
• Clean and maintain pool area, towels, furniture, and waste disposal.
• Teach swim lessons, coach swim teams, and support other aquatic programs as directed by management.
• IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR CLEANING OR MAINTAINING BATHROOMS.

Job Summary

Provide a fun and safe aquatic environment for all members, their families, and guests.

Job Duties

• To maintain and provide a safe aquatic environment for all members in compliance with club standard operating procedures and The Red Cross or YMCA lifeguard certification standards.
• To connect with members and their families through ongoing contact on the pool deck and participation in club activities.
• To properly maintain and monitor the pool environment so it meets all required local health codes and member needs.
• To maintain a clean and safe pool environment through proper cleaning and preventative maintenance of aquatic equipment, distribution and laundry service of towels, checking in members and their guests, regular attention to pool furniture, and trash removal.
• Teaching swim lessons, potentially coaching of swim team supervising group swim activities, and helping with other aquatic program activities set forth by management.
