Job Summary:

The Lifeguards are responsible for supporting and enforcing rules and regulations, and ensuring the safety of the pool facility within the lifeguard certification. The primary responsibility of the lifeguard is guest safety.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

• Scan the pool area to detect safety concerns and practice preventative lifeguarding.
• Conduct oneself professionally, understand, and relate effectively to guests while using the pools.
• Communicate effectively with children, parents/guardians, and the public. Respond quickly and efficiently to member questions, comments, and concerns.
• Patrol pool areas to maintain cleanliness of the facility and equipment. Perform daily maintenance duties such as setting up for daily operations and major cleanup at the end of the day.
• Work at swim meets as needed.
• Test the pool environment for proper chemical and environmental measures.

About You:

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Current American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification, including CPR/AED and First Aid.
• Knowledge of accident prevention and response procedures.
• Ability to swim long distances, minimum 300 yards, with strength and endurance.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
