Requirements and Opportunities:
- Minimum age of 18 preferred (limited shifts for ages 16-17)
- Experience swimming; training provided for lifeguarding and rescue techniques
- Ability to work with diverse kids and families
- Availability Monday-Saturday, 5:00 am to 10:00 pm, with flexibility

Job Summary:
Supervise the aquatics area to prevent accidents, assist swimmers, and respond to emergencies, ensuring a safe, positive atmosphere in line with YMCA policies.
Essential Functions:
- Maintain constant surveillance and respond immediately to emergencies
- Perform first aid and complete incident reports
- Know and communicate pool policies
- Attend monthly trainings
Relationships:
- Report to the Aquatics Director/Supervisor
- Interact with staff, volunteers, and participants
Qualifications:
- Minimum age 15
- Current nationally accredited lifeguard, BLS, and First Aid certifications
- Certification in Oxygen Administration within 45 days of hire
- Ability to perform all lifeguard skills and respond effectively in emergencies
Work Conditions:
- Pass water rescue tests
- Remain alert in warm environments
- Perform strenuous physical tasks and rescues
- Communicate effectively and stay focused for long periods
