Job summary

The Riviera Club is seeking a dedicated lifeguard to ensure a safe and welcoming swimming environment for Members and their guests in Indianapolis, IN. We value hard work, cheerful attitudes and a commitment to safety.

Responsibilities include monitoring pool activity, enforcing rules, performing first aid and water rescues when needed, keeping the deck clean, and assisting with swim tests and ongoing training. Positions are available for immediate start.

Qualifications

• Willingness to work in water.
• Enjoy working with children.
• The ability to tread water and to swim 300 meters without resting.
• A valid and up to date Lifeguard & CPR/First Aid Certification required.
• Basic computer literacy.

Responsibilities

• Monitoring all pool activity.
• Ensure the safety of all swimming patrons.
• Responding to emergencies and providing first aid when required.
• Maintain professional appearances and proper attire.
• Ensure the pool deck and all equipment/furniture on the pool deck is kept clean and clear of debris.
• Providing water rescues when the need arises.
• Tending to the locker rooms and providing basic cleaning in the locker rooms and guard shack on a scheduled basis.
• Attend any and all required classes, meetings, or training sessions.
• Keep the pool clean and clear of debris by using such methods, but not limited to, using skimmers and pool vacuuming.
• Keeping lap lane lines clean and clear of debris and algae.
• Picking up trash and taking trash to the designated dumpster.
• Keeping the Olympic Grass clean of all food and debris and using a hose to clean off dirty areas.
• Monitoring puddles on the pool deck and distributing the water to remove the puddle.
• Administering swim tests for all swim ages.
• Following any and all said list and duties given by Riviera Club Management.

The Riviera Club is a full faceted Club with one of the largest outdoor pools in the country and options to swim indoors during the off-season. Our lifeguards are tasked on creating an environment where all Member’s and their guests that utilize the pool can feel safe and secure when swimming. Our lifeguards are well trained and take pride in creating a welcoming environment and also have the safety of the Club’s Member’s and their guests as their priority.
