Under close to general supervision, performs duties for the City of Idaho Falls Aquatic Center, ensuring the safety of the patrons in the swimming area. Positions are part-time and/or seasonal in nature.
Must possess current American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification and certified in Administering Emergency Oxygen or the ability to get certifications within a month of hire date. A class for these may be provided at little or no cost if hired before class begins.
Tasks require a variety of physical activities generally involving muscular strain. Physical demands may occur in activities related to walking, standing, stooping, sitting, reaching, running, jumping, etc. Talking, hearing and seeing required in the daily performance of job duties. Occasional exposure to environmental hazards resulting from working in a recreational environment. Mental application utilizes memory for details, emotional stability and discriminating thinking and creative problem solving.
