Southworth is seeking a dedicated Lifeguard to ensure the safety of members and guests at our pools and aquatic facilities. You will monitor the pool area, respond to emergencies, enforce rules, and coordinate with staff to maintain a secure and enjoyable environment.

Required certifications include lifeguard, CPR, First Aid, and AED. The role emphasizes quick decision-making, strong communication, reliability, and the ability to work flexible shifts.

Qualifications

• Lifeguard certification from a recognized agency is required.
• Current CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications are required.
• Proven lifeguarding experience in pools or aquatic environments.
• Strong swimming ability and physical fitness for water rescues.
• Excellent observational skills to identify hazards quickly.
• Clear communication with members, guests and staff.
• Ability to stay composed and make quick decisions in high-pressure situations.
• Reliable and punctual with assigned shifts.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the pool area to prevent accidents and ensure safety of members and guests.
• React swiftly to emergencies or incidents and coordinate responses.
• Enforce pool rules and club policies for a safe environment.
• Conduct regular inspections of the pool, equipment, and surrounding areas for hazards.
• Assist with pool setup, cleanup, and equipment organization.
• Provide excellent customer service by addressing member inquiries professionally.
• Administer first aid and CPR per certifications as needed.
• Collaborate with lifeguards and staff to coordinate safety procedures.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and vigilant Lifeguard to join our team. As a lifeguard, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our club members and guests as they enjoy our pool and aquatic facilities. Your strong communication skills, quick decision-making abilities, and commitment to safety will be essential in maintaining a secure and enjoyable environment for all.

Duties And Functions

• Monitoring the pool area to prevent accidents and ensure member/guest safety.
• Reacting swiftly and appropriately to any potential emergencies or incidents.
• Enforcing pool rules and club policies to maintain a safe and respectful environment.
• Conducting regular inspections of the pool, equipment, and surrounding areas for hazards or maintenance issues.
• Assisting with pool area setup, cleanup, and organizing equipment.
• Providing excellent customer service by addressing member inquiries and concerns professionally.
• Administering first aid and CPR when necessary and in accordance with your certifications.
• Collaborating with fellow lifeguards and club staff to coordinate safety procedures and pool activities.

Qualification Standards

• Valid lifeguard certification from a recognized accrediting agency.
• Current certification in CPR, First Aid, and AED.
• Proven experience in lifeguarding, preferably in a pool or aquatic environment.
• Strong swimming skills and physical fitness to perform water rescues effectively.
• Exceptional observational skills with the ability to quickly identify potential hazards.
• Clear communication abilities to interact with members, guests, and fellow staff members.
• Ability to remain composed and make quick decisions in high-pressure situations.
• Reliability and punctuality to adhere to assigned shifts and schedules.
