Job summary

Cone Health Medical Group's Sagewell location in Greensboro, NC is seeking a Lifeguard to promote water safety and support pool-based fitness, recreation, and wellness for all members.

Under supervision, you will supervise pool users, enforce rules, assist with chemical testing and opening/closing duties, teach water safety and swimming skills, and help maintain equipment and cleanliness.

Qualifications

• Red Cross Lifeguard Training certification required.
• CPR/AED and First Aid certification required.
• Preferred: High School Diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Supervise pool users during open swim, lap swim, or scheduled programs to ensure safety.
• Enforces pool rules to prevent injury and responds to emergencies.
• Supports opening/closing procedures, chemical testing, and equipment management.
• Teaches water safety principles, swimming techniques, and stroke development.
• Helps promote fitness programs and maintains pool area cleanliness and equipment.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Sagewell is located at 3518 Drawbridge Parkway (inside MedCenter Greensboro) Greensboro, NC 27410 and 723 S Van Buren Road Suite A-4 Eden, NC 27288. The Lifeguard promotes overall water safety for members utilizing the pool area. Working under close supervision for routine situations, this job provides a safe, sanitary pool environment to encourage use of pool for fitness, relaxation, and recreation.

Essential Job Function:

• Supervises pool users utilizing the pool area during open swim, lap swim, or scheduled programs to ensure safety.
• Enforces pool rules to prevent injury and responds to emergency situations.
• Supports all daily opening and closing procedures such as chemical testing and reporting, managing pool space, and turning off all equipment.
• Teaches water safety principles, swimming techniques, and stroke development to improve swimmers' abilities.
• Helps promote fitness programs and assists the aquatic department in maintaining equipment and cleanliness standards.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education:

• Preferred: High School Diploma or equivalent.

Licensure/Certification/Listing:

• Required: Red Cross Lifeguard Training certification, CPR/AED and First Aid Certified.
