Position Summary:
Prevent drowning and other injuries in the Aquatics Center at the Glenwood Springs Community Center.
Essential Functions:
- Monitor activities in and near the water through patron surveillance.
- Prevent injuries by minimizing or eliminating hazardous situations or behaviors.
- Enforce facility rules and regulations and educate patrons about them.
- Recognize and respond quickly and effectively to emergencies.
- Administer first aid and CPR, including using an automated external defibrillator (AED).
- Work as a team with other lifeguards, facility staff, and management.
- Test the pool water chemistry.
- Assist patrons with safety orientations, administering swim tests, fitting lifejackets, and other duties.
- Perform cleaning or maintenance tasks.
- Complete forms and reports.
- Perform opening, closing, and safety inspections of the facility.
Other duties may be assigned as needed. The ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is mandatory.

Necessary Education, Training & Certifications:
- Must be 15 years of age or older.
