Job summary

American Dream is seeking a Lifeguard to provide a safe and enjoyable experience for guests at DreamWorks Water Park. You will oversee pool areas, enforce rules, and respond to emergencies while delivering strong customer service.

Training is provided, and certification in First Aid, CPR, and Lifeguard Training is required or offered. The role requires a flexible part-time schedule, including weekdays and weekends.

Qualifications

• Must be an adept swimmer with the ability to pass testing and certifications.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Experience in customer service is a plus.
• Availability to work a flexible part-time schedule, including weekends.
• Training is provided but you must maintain strong swimming ability.
• Certification in First Aid, CPR, and Lifeguard Training is required or will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Maintain constant surveillance of guests in pools and hot tubs.
• Respond to first aid situations and assist distressed swimmers.
• Enforce safety rules and educate guests on proper use of attractions.
• Present a professional appearance and provide high-level customer service.
• Monitor first aid facilities and attend to guests needing medical assistance.
• Address guest questions about waterslides and facilities.
• Contribute to a safe environment for staff and guests.
• Ensure safe operation of attractions including slide dispatch, runouts, catch pools, hot tubs, and wave pools.
• Perform other duties as required.

Job description

The Lifeguardprovides guests with an exceptional experience while ensuring safe and proper usage of the facilities, by communicating rules and active supervision of the pool area.

• DreamWorks Water Park is open year round.
• Qualified candidates need to know how to swim. We will provide testing, training and certifications for those that qualify

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintaining a constant, uninterrupted surveillance of guests in pools and hot tubs.
• Responding to major and minor first aid situations and distressed swimmers.
• Enforcing safety rules and regulations, and instruct and reinforce the proper use of Water Park attractions to our guests.
• Presenting a professional appearance at all times and maintain a high standard of customer service.
• Monitoring and supervising first aid facility and attending to any guests arriving needing medical assistance.
• Responding to guest concerns, questions, and requests regarding waterslides and facility.
• Being actively involved in creating and maintaining a safe environment for all staff and guests.
• Safe operation of attractions including slide dispatch, runouts, catch pools, hot tubs, and wave pools.
• Other responsibilities as required.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Previous customer service experience is an asset
• Safety minded with the ability to stay calm in emergency situations
• Must have excellent communication, written and interpersonal skills
• Enjoy working as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
• Must be an adept swimmer
• Training is provided but you must be a strong swimmer.
• Ability to successfully complete certification in First Aid, CPR, and Ellis & Associates Lifeguard Training
• This is a part-time position that requires flexible availability Monday through Sunday

PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to stand for long periods of time, climb multiple flights of stairs and work in a hot, humid, chlorinated environment
• Swim 200 yards and ability to retrieve 10-pound diving brick from depth of 8 ft. of water
• Tread water for 2 minutes without using your hands
• Must be at least 16 years of age
• Must be able to pass a basic security clearance
