Job summary

SafeSplash in New York is seeking a Lifeguard to oversee the safety of students, parents, and staff. You will maintain constant surveillance, report hazards, and respond to emergencies with professional care.

This role offers paid training, daily pay, flexible hours, and benefits for your immediate family. On-site work with a school leadership team, contributing to a safe, engaging learning environment.

Qualifications

• Lifeguard certification is required and must be maintained during employment.
• CPR/First Aid and AED certifications required within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Maintain constant surveillance to ensure the safety of customers and report any unsafe activities, equipment or instruction to management.
• Provide feedback to instructors immediately if they are outside curriculum safety requirements (e.g. safety distances, holds, turning backs).
• Act immediately and appropriately to secure safety of customers in the event of an emergency.
• Provide emergency care and treatment as required until EMS arrival.
• Prepare appropriate incident reports.
• Always present a professional and engaging attitude.
• Attend monthly in-services to continue to work on lifeguarding skills.
• Deliver a world-class experience by ensuring a safe environment for swimmers.
• Must be able to lift and push up to 50 lbs. and be on your feet for long periods.

Responsibilities:

Safety

Maintain constant surveillance to ensure the safety of our customers and report any unsafe activities, equipment or instruction to management.

Provide feedback to instructors immediately if they are outside of curriculum safety requirements (i.e. safety distances, holds, turning backs, etc.)

Act immediately and appropriately to secure the safety of customers in the event of an emergency.

Provide emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services.

Prepare appropriate incident reports.

Always present a professional and engaging attitude.

Attend monthly in-services to continue to work on lifeguarding skills.

Job Type

Weekdays, Weeknights and Weekends required

10+ hours a week (seasonality can impact this)

Requirements

Lifeguard Certification is required and must be maintained during time of employment (training available)

Current CPR-PR, First Aid, and AED certifications are required within 30 days of hire and be maintained (training available)

Expected to learn the curriculum to include all safety aspects within 30 days of employment.

Ability to work effectively in a team environment

Comfortable working around water and interacting with children and parents.

Must be able to lift and push up to 50 lbs. and be on your feet for long periods
